Our Youth Group works alongside parents to help their kids grow in their faith by creating an environment for kids to relax, having fun, and helping kids study Scripture for themselves. Our kids range in age from 11-18. We gather each Wednesday night, from 6:30pm-8pm in our Youth Room in the 2nd floor of our building. We’d love to see you there! Parents are welcome to join us!
We simply want to create a fun and relaxing atmosphere so that our youth can feel at home. We spend part of our time just hanging out and playing games.
Real, raw questions are not just accepted, but invited and celebrated. We want to create a space where kids can ask whatever is on their mind without being ridiculed or mocked. Our leaders strive to be patient with kids, and meet them where they are at. We don’t think in terms of weeks – they think in terms of years.
We see the kids as capable humans with souls, who can think deeply and engage in genuine conversation. We do not brush the kids off, or treat them as second class. We engage them as autonomous humans, created in the image of God.
We don’t want to just give information. We teach with the intent for kids to engage with information, and wrestle through the implications of the Bible and its teachings. This means that we don’t rush through topics, but stop where we see kids working through the teaching, and work to help them think through it deeply.
